If you are still using the old key lock system for your entry door locks, you are falling a very long behind modern technology. It has been proven time and time again, that even children can break into cars through their key-based entry door locks.

Entry door locks are very important in that they are your first line of defense against criminals breaking into your car, home, garage or shed. There are many types of entry door locks ranging from the traditional key locks to biometric readers.
Most cars still use keys combined with remote control central locking but expensive cars often have or have the option of biometric or finger-print locking, which means that you activate the entry door locks by placing your finger on the lock.
Entry door locks that use finger-print technology allow multiple users to register their finger prints into the lock’s memory so that only those people can open that door.
These finger print locks are extremely accurate at reading fingerprints and because no two finger prints are alike, these entry door locks are a good keyless solution for barring unauthorized entry to your property
These fingerprint entry door locks are also easy to fit. You can either replace your existing locks yourself or have it done for you. There are kits available for you to replace all the entry door locks on your car and the boot lock.
While you are about it, why not replace the ignition key as well? Then you will not have to worry about keys at all.
The acronyms RKS (remote keyless systems) and RKE systems (remote keyless entry) are often used to describe these entry door locks. A system that replaces a physical metal key with a remote device is just as losable as a key and it can be accidentally locked in the car as well.
A remote keyless system can include both an RKE and a remote keyless ignition system (RKI) as well.
Remote keyless systems work by broadcasting radio waves of a certain frequency. In north America and Japan, most RKE’s work on 315 MHz and 433.92 MHz in Europe. Most modern systems employ some kind of encryption to prevent car thieves from intercepting and copying signal.
These entry door locks normally signify their condition, locked or unlocked, by different combinations of flashing lights and beeps of the horn or other speaker system. The key fobs of remote control car alarms will often not only activate the entry door locks.
Some will close all open windows and the sun roof on the ‘lock’ command; some will open the petrol flap or / and the boot. Yet others will allow you to start the engine remotely as well.
If you have a fairly cheap car, you can assume that the entry door locks are fairly cheap too and therefore of not much use against habitual car thieves. However, no matter what kind of sophisticated entry door locks you have, a brick through the window will always allow access.
